Interviu - Yonderboi

Inainte de a-l vedea la B'estival, Yonderboi, pe numele sau real Laszlo Fogarasi, a acceptat sa ne acorde un scurt interviu. Yonderboi, al carui nume este inspirat din romanul Neromancer al lui William Gibson si inseamna "baiatul de departe, de dincolo", este originar din Ungaria si spune ca este o persoana emotionala si ca acest lucru il influenteaza foarte mult atunci cand face muzica.



Ever been in Bucharest before? And how do you compare it with Budapest?

No, never. I only was in some cities of Transylvania before. So unfortunately I couldn't compare the two cities. They have very similar names that's a fact. And for example for western people is not so easy to decide which city belongs to which country. This funny confusion is an ultimate joker for the band. But B'estival will be a great opportunity to check out our "namesake" city, I've already heard good things from my friends who recently had theatre performances in Bucharest.


What shows are you eager to see during B'ESTIVAL?

Hooverphonic and Kasabian are good bands, and I'm sure Manson will be very entertaining too.


What does Yonderboi mean?

Yonder is the synonime word of beyond in old English. And my nick means something like the boy from over there or the boy from far away.


What do you rely on when making music, technique or emotions?

I'm basically a very emotional person, so I could never avoid that as a source, even if I wanted. Though the big challenge in today's music making is to rule both technical skills and emotional content. So in the last years I made a lot of efforts to get better with the technical things. By that we can say these are my periods, first was strictly emotional, then the technical, and I'm just approaching the third state that keeps me extremely excited right now. Technology filled with emotions, or we can even say neoprimitivism.
